地藏菩萨追思庆典

在佛教里，农历七月不仅是报恩月也是孝亲月，俗称吉祥月。

根据佛典记载，地藏王菩萨在过去世中，曾经几度救出自己在地狱受苦的母亲；并在久远劫以来就发心立愿：

“地狱不空，誓不成佛 ; 众生度尽，方正菩提”

地藏王菩萨以孝道著称。值此地藏王菩萨圣诞殊胜日，希望我们每一个人效学地藏王菩萨孝顺父母的精神来做供养，为現世父母消災祈福、为累世父母积聚功德。

适逢地藏菩萨圣诞，槟城万福佛学会诚邀大家一起参与地藏祈福和追思报恩庆典。

愿以此殊胜因缘, 为历代祖先, 现世父母, 七世父母祈福, 得究竟安乐。

Celebration Birth Of Ksitigarbha Boddhisattva

In Buddhism, the seventh month of the lunar calendar is not only the month of gratitude but also the month of filial piety, commonly known as the auspicious month.

According to the Buddhist scriptures, the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has rescued his mother who suffered in hell several times in his past lives; he has made a vow since a long time ago:

“If The hell is not empty, I would not become a Buddha; 

 Only when All beings are blessed and purified, the Bodhi will then be attained “

The Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is known for his filial piety.  On this Birthday of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, hope that each of us will imitate the spirit of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s filial piety to make offerings, pray for our parents, and accumulate merits for parents from past live. 

In conjunction with the sacred birthday of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva , Penang Ban Foo Buddhist Organisation would like to invite everyone to participate in the gratitude blessings event.

May all sentient beings, parents of present & past lives free from suffering and be showered with joys.
